Hi Guys and Gals,
Off to Leeman, so will give you all boat and beach report of who is catching what, have remembered this time, my password for the laptop, duh dumb blonde me the last time.
Will let you all know in a couple of days what the weed is like, as the last time in October, weed everywhere, ramps were full and low tide, so no beach fishing plus the damn westerlies blowing for most of the time we were there, hanging out for a beach fish, as not taking boat, old farts eyes still up the creek.

Enjoy the trip Roberta.
Enjoy the trip Roberta. Friend of mine had a shack a few k's up the road from Gumtree bay a few years back. Best diving and fishing I've ever done up there. We would bag out on crays every day on one particular lump.
Love the West!

Keen for follow up
Mate can you let me know how you get on as I am heading up that between Xmas and NY for 6 days and it will be my first triup - taking a 27fter so access to offshore ground.
Cheers

Hi Ronboy
Hopefully the tides will be right for you for launching your boat. The better ramp would be Sea Rescue Ramp for your size boat, both ramps need 4x4. The town ramp/Sea Rescue, usually gets cleaned by the Council. Don't forget to log in to Sea Rescue.
Head out to the 30's plus for a good feed. Plenty of pro cray pots out, they usually always go on good ground, good luck. Or head out to the shelf for good fishing of dhuie's, baldies, snapper. Excellent ground out of Leeman, we've got plenty of spots but never seem to get to the SPOT always find good ground. I'd watch out for the southerlies for coming in as the surge can be a bugger trying to retrieve the boat on the trailer. 13 days to go to catch the demersals, so can't tell you what people are catching at the moment. Apparently plenty of squid/blue manners around as well.
Bring your own booze as its quite expensive to buy in Leeman or on the way through call into Jurien Bay, look for the IGA store as there is a good liquor store in the shopping centre. Your last deliver of fresh bread is a Friday, so make sure you get plenty of bread for the week end and Public Holidays. Petrol/diesel is a bit cheaper at the Post Office (good for getting cash out as well) they also have very good meat (frozen) have tasted a lot of their meat and not bad. The roadhouse on Indian Ocean Drive has not bad fish/chips and take away food.
Haven't been beach fishing but most beaches north/south are free of weed and the water is clear. Howling easterlies for two days and at the moment 36c today and 37c Saturday. A few netters have had good caughtes of herring/mullet/whiting.
Plenty of crays (whites) are being caught, divers have been down and in close full of crays, a lot of crays are in Berry but hopefully by Xmas they will be catchable.
Hope this helps you
Regards
Roberta
