Leeman LB

Well, Peaceful Bay is out this weekend and we are heading up to Leeman for a couple a nights.

Just wondering what to expect. I'll no doubt be baitcasting for tailor, then put out a fresh bait at night for something bigger. Are there any good surf beaches around - or is it all pretty much reef? Skippy on low tide?

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers,

Rob

Leeman LB

Mate I went up a couple of times as we knew someone who lived in Leeman.

Shore fishing in Leeman was ordinary, a real letdown. There was a bay we went to (sorry, I can't recall the name ) and it was about 10-15 mins south of Leeman. 4wd only but awesome for Yellowfin Whiting and some big flounder.

Thanks Clay - shame to hear that. I know the action offshore is excellent.

I might have to go exploring on Sat morning at low tide - see whats around and keep my fingers crossed for some action. Still, if I come home with whiting and flounder I won't be disappointed. :o)

There are plenty

of tracks (mainly 4x4) north of Leeman where you can go fishing land based, also they have a beach that is called Taylor Beach, which does fire up for Taylor early morning or evening.  The jetty (crayfishermans) have been known to catch Skippy, squid and herring.  You can drive to Gum Tree and get on the beach either left or right, but high tide some of the beaches, aren't excess-able.  Plenty of options, if you have the time to find the tracks.  Love it as you are the only ones on the beach,  low tide there are reefs quite close in around Knobby Head that you can dive on, as the cray boats can't get in to put there pots there and with the shackers gone, must be heaps of crays.  Good luck
