Leeuwin Boat ramp.

Guys.
Never used it before but what are the chances of getting a park at the Leeuwin boat ramp in Freo on
any given summer weekend, I can only assume it is like Hillaries, etc and packed out?
Never fished out of Freo and wanted to have look.

cheers

I've used it a bunch of times and never seen it even 1/2 of the mayhem at Hillarys at peak times. Might have been just lucky or maybe ocean goers tend to avoid the $12 fee and go to Woodies?

I live 5mins from Leeuwin but 9 times out of 10 I will drive 20mins to Woodies. 8 Ramps, masses of free parking and unless going to Thompson bay with the family for a steady cruise, the 8knot limit on the river means it takes longer to get out anyway.

It's busy at leeuwin on a decent weekend but I've never not had a park. I have queued for 30mins to put my boat in though...

Ramp is a shit of thing to get boat on trailer with any sort of wind or when tides are running....everything is across you, either blowing boat back onto jetty or away from jetty depending where you can get a spot

.. unless driving-on or have a useful decky then winching on by hand is a prick

I've never had issues Parking thou

go to woodies for me

Short answer yes you will

Short answer yes you will find parking if you go early. Just be careful if you go a bit later and park anywhere but a trailer bay, there's quite often rangers walking around dishing out fines if you've parked illegally even with a ticket.  It's a more direct route to rotto but I'm with Chris, you cop the wake of every boat on its way past in addition to the wind and tide.

ok thanks guys thanks for the feedback, might give it a try and see how it goes. I want to fish north of freo. Gee $12 is pretty rich for sure, I understand it has just been upgraded, good location blah blah blah, but that's crazy when places like woodies is free?
