Left the sounder on

Hi all,
Stupid me left the sounder on when I retieved the boat. In total it would have been out of the water for about 45mins before I remembered. Is this detrimental to the tranny?
It is a 600w Furuno tranny (Furuno 620 sounder).
Thank you
Chris

They do recommend you don't
They do recommend you don't operate them out of the water, not sure that 45min on a 600w job is going to cook it though ;)

I wouldn't believe so.The
I wouldn't believe so.
The transducer emits and recieves sound waves. The sound waves do not transmit to well in air so the sounder will not work unless it is in a denser medium like water.

Might not be working well,
Might not be working well, but it is still working. The point is they can overheat when running in air, its not getting the heat exchange it would expect.

Considering there's people
Considering there's people that run their tranny in hull, on a blob of sikaflex permanently without any water ...wouldn't think it'd be a drama for 45min
