To settle an conversation i had the other day what depth in reality would be the absolute maxium to send down a livie like a Scaly Mack or yellowtail and still have it in good condition , All the live bait would be kept in a live bait well and still in good condition before hand and thoughts ?

No real experience at deep depths feral however I have fished live whiting at 40m and they have been alive and kicking for at least half an hour (unfortunately). For really dep water I reckon the drop speed ofthe livie would be the key. Many of the small bait fish do get down quite deep naturally, however I would think that half a kilo of lead helping them sink wouldn't do them ay good.
