Long way for 3 fish!!

Weather looked good to have another crack at the deep stuff. So steamed out the 36 nm from Mandurah and got to an area we have fished before and picked up Nanny's and a few other bits and pieces, but no Cod. Greyband are the target species, but we are still to tick that one off. We managed a crackin' Nannygai at 63cm and a just size Pinky before the Nor Easter picked up outwide. Couldn't hold bottom even with 64 ounces of lead!

Decided to troll back in and check out some new ground in the 90's. By the time we got there the wind had dropped off nicely. Took a sounder shot as I haven't come across bottom like this. Any ideas? Especially the middle section.

Managed a very nice Baldy but fish shows were few and far between.

Long day on the water for 3 fish but beats working eh!!

Especially coming home when it's like this.

Looks like hard ground full of crevasses and holes. My experience is that you often do well without actually marking a lot of fish so always worth a drop!

Nice

looks like a nice day out.
The ground from about 88 - 94m looks like that all the way south from rotto.
Definately worth a fish as we have caught some of our biggest dhus from those depths

Heres a pic from a similar depth west of Point Peron.

Something about the ground in that depth

Yeah we worked about a mile in that depth range and the bottom was like that a lot. Good to know good Dhus come from it. The Baldy come from there so you would think it is good hard bottom. We were thinking maybe limestone pinnacles but didn't get snagged.
