Yesterday's catch

Went out from mindarie yesterday with a mate and found the fishing to be pretty slow, even the pickers weren't interested for a couple of hours. Then as I was pulling my line up to move to another spot it got hit half way up, thinking it was a shark at first it ended up being a little tuna, I'm calling it a blue Fin but my mate thinks it's a big eye. So we move further out and the bites start to turn on and I boat a just  undersize baldie, back down it went all good. Heaps of little bites for everyone and then I get a nice legal size red throat come aboard. The boys on board started to curse me coz they hadn't landed a fish yet but I was happy coz I was onto my second beer. A bit more drifting and moving drifting and moving resulted in only 1 36cm black are which my mate caught. The call was made to come in close and fish the reef not far out of the marina, by now the wind had picked up again so we put the sea anchor out and started getting bites straight away. It felt like small shit to me so I put my rod in the holder and proceeded to tie up a lighter rig when my mate says to me "you look snagged buddy". Indeed I was snagged so I pulled back hard to try and break my line which it did and then it went to instant weight like I was snagged again but this time it had a little pull in it. After a few minutes up comes a 74cm dhuie from 14 metres of water. Now I really had the names coming at me but I really didn't care. All in all it was a great day on the water, weather was awesome, would of been good for the skipper and the other bloke to catch some quality fish but we split the catch and everyone got some fillet.
