Long weekend's salmon hunt

Spent our long weekend down at Albany for the second time in 10yrs....and also to avoid the crowds at Dunsborough...and also the lack of accomodation there.
Wat a beautiful place to spend the weekend.
Oh fishing was great as well....heaps of places to fish...ended up at Salmon Hole and Cables Beach. All the fish were caught from small schools of fish to 40fish. They're pretty chunky as well....not the usual lean ones from the metro area. We ended up with a lazy dozen or so with 2 kept for the table.

Salmon

Aweeeeesome fish mate, you have me torn now.. so much talk about up north and their catches and then there's the action from the south which makes you want to head that way and get away from the heat... So tough living in a state that has such awesome opportunities to relax and get away from it all, either north or south. We've got it good here is W.A, can't deny it.

Good to see that you have left those Sambo's alone for a while and trying your hand at the Aussie salmon, looks like it has been a success. I love that part of the world and you have made me jealous for the next few weeks until i can get down there.
Nice chunky fish!! Good work

Honsu,

Those little power packs go about as hard as your sambo's pound for pound, so a couple of great captures there mate. Well done. I'ts been years since I caught a salmon (Ricey beach April 1998 I think) Jeez that is an eternity ago. Hang on I did catch a couple out of mandurah west of the 5fb about a year or two ago (out of a boat though so they don;t count).

I am very jealous, good onya.

Cheers

Andy Mac
