losing contours and features on hds

Hi All
I was hoping someone might be able to help... I have a hds gen 2 that I'm using as a chart plotter and the last two trips the maps seem to lose the contour line and features. Bit hairy out of hillarys but I was able to folloe past tracks. All the points I have put in remain. I have a gold maps I think. There is still some general depths remaining, displayed as different colours.
When I go and hit default factory reset they come up again but after while it reverts back to them not being there. But lose all sounder settings.
From the unit I currently run a nmea back bone to an electric motor, a LSS2 structure scan and the deep 50/200 transducer.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Dirty contacts??
May be the navionics card or slot have dirty contacts that is affecting reading the card. Sounds like its switching to the base map in the unit. Could also be a corrupt card so trying another may be an option. As always, update the software if you don't have the latest version - reminds me I need to do this...

Software update
When doing a software update, make sure your navionics card is not in the unit as this could corrupt the data and make the card useless.

Definatley sounds like the card. I had the same problem and put the micro card in a new c card and fixed the problem. Also for a more detailed map , turn fish and chip on in the settings menu.

I had the same issue with my hds. One of the card slots had stopped working, it'll only show the Lowrance date with basic depths and features on it. Put the Navionics chart card into the other card slot and solved the problem.
