hi
ive got a hds7 gen 2 and ive heard you can get extra power cords for them
i want to be able to sit at home turn on the device and muck around with it etc without having to connect it to the boat
ive had a quick search and couldnt see any cords that can plug into a wall but ive heard they are out there
or are they a cord that plugs into one of those small 12v batteries? and not the actual wall
anyone actually have one of these?
and can you point me in the right direction?
thanks
Terry

There are a few places that sell them including Ebay.
Have a look at the links below. They may be of assistance to you.
Good luck,

12V power supply
If you're looking to power up your HDS7 at home, you'll need a power cable, as previously mentioned. Gotta be available at your local Lowrance dealer, etc.
According to the operating manual for the HDS7 it states the supply voltage range of 10 - 18VDC and the power consumption is 0.8 Amps @ 13V with the backlight turned on and 0.4 Amps with the backlight turned off. You should be able to buy an off the shelf 240VAC to 12VDC power supply rated at 1 Amp from Dick Smiths, Jaycar, etc. Cut the 12V plug off and make up some connectors which will join onto your Lowrance power cord. Make sure you get the polarity correct.
For safety sake, you might include an inline fuse in the +ve lead. You might even get away with a 0.5 Amp unit if you turn the backlight off.
Hope this helps.
