Lucanus Jigs - anyone using them?

Guys

Just wondering if anyone has used these jigs locally?

If so what colour size combination works for snapper?

Who sells them?

The problem with them is the price, and everything wants to eat them up here, and some have teeth!!

Had hits going down from the razor gang, and since the main target is coral trout and other nice bottom dwelling jummies, I certainly dont use anything wire. Work them lazy, almost let the boat do the work and they score.

Leaves me with one option. I have to go and get some more.

Have found no diff with the colours, give the pink ones to the girls and they love it, and use whatever is left. I try to use the smallest one to get to the bottom, the skirt/tail makes up for the rest.

And dont wind them up like crazy up here in Dampier, seem to attract any toothy critter in my experience and I dont even know what they were.

Hope this helps.

Yep I love them!

Only just started playing around with them and got a nice fat Queen Snap Snap out from Rotto the other week. I tend to work them a bit more than crasny giving the jig gentle sweeps and mixing it up. Yet to snag a dhuie on one but wasn't really working any of my dhuie spots... can't wait.

They are a bit exy but I see you can get replacement skirts and hooks; I have a pink 80g one that has been given a flogging and will require a replacement skirt shortly. You can feel the small fish give them a little nudge the bigger fish just belt them.

Caught the snapper in my avatar on a pink 200gr lucanis jig and a few smaller ones as well.  No need to wind keep it near the bottom in the strike zone and just work the rod around in small lifts.  I suspect all colour will get hit.  Haven't lost one yet but have replaced the skirt (approx $2.50 or so) and have a few different weights in different colours.  Was in heavy current thu only used the heavier ones on the day.  Hoping to use them in Port Lincoln over next two weeks.

Cheers
