Lucky side of the boat??

Does anyone else find that there is a lucky side of the boat? In the past, I have had my uncle and a mate from work fish on my boat and most of the fish come in over my side of the boat on more than one occassion. I fish on the starboard side as I go from the controls to throwing out a line and the decky on the day fishes on the port side. I throw the sea anchor out the back to make the boat face the direction of the drift. My transducer is on the starboard side if it has any affect and the same bait is used on all the lines but I can't say if the bait presentation is the same though. My mate reckons that he is bad luck but I don't see the problem as he is the one not catching the fish, no complaining here. ;)

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

To be honest some days one side fires better than the other.... but it all evens out.

i usually fish
on the opposite side to my transducer! and i usually catch more fish

when I wake up ...as to which side of the boat I fish, always works....mate asked " what about if she's on her back" ...well I don't go fishing those days

I've heard of it
I've heard a story on one boat that the skipper had his favourite spot and that the fill in deckie for the day was told move out of it or we go back in, so back in they went, from way passed Rotto and didn't drop a line. Lol. Guess some people are picky, I'm just happy to be out there and when deep fishing, more than happy to sit back and watch the hurt.

Port Gregory Dhuies
Years ago when my kids were little, we all holidayed in Port Gregory with the in-laws. Back then I had a 15' fibreglass runabout...one of those with the moulded seats each side of the outboard.
One day my father-in-law and I went fishing and he sat on the starboard side and I sat on the port side. He caught 4 dhuies and I never got a sniff....it was probably the first time he'd been fishing in a boat. It all worked out ok though, as we all ate dhuie for weeks.
It was great fun just watching him....and we were fishing with handlines, no gps & no fishfinder.
