Mackie lures?
Submitted by SPESS on Mon, 2007-03-26 17:12
Hi boys, Im just about to upgrade my mackie lures and want a few suggestions on any new products that might be worth looking at. Was thinking a few X-raps from rapala as ive heard they are producing the goods. Im currently using cd18s and laser pros in the pink and black tiger stripe look and of coarse a few different red head style lures. What depth range is best and stlye. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers chris.

the yozuri hydro magnums in
the yozuri hydro magnums in purple chrome are a popular choice. If your looking for somethin not so expensive the blue fox mackeral mauler 18s are cheap as chips and as the name states deadly on mackies.
My top 3 would be laser pro 190s, Rapala X-raps 30s, yozure hydro mags.

lures
Very hard to go past the rapala CD's but the best colour isnt available anymore - GFR.
The X-raps also go real well in the mackeral colour but are a bit more expensive.

bout 5-6knots
I normally go at about 5-6 knots and seems to work alright for me. Pretty sure there are a lot of others out there who prefer a faster speed but I think if your over 5 knots t should be fine.

Gull
As if you know how to catch a mackie Gull.... Maybe you should put out a lure that looks like a 5kg tuna and watch it get smashed airborne by a 50kg mack??? :))))))
