I have the opposite view
For the average bloke it is heading the way so many other shows have - empty stands and quite disappointing in my view - sure there are some large boats but where are all the small business stands or have they been priced out of it ??
I will save my $18 next year that is for sure (and it will probably be $20)

112 stands inside the big hall.
136 stands on land outside.
95 dockside stands.
Adds up to one hell of a lot of stands with a great variety of boats and equipment!

Caught Ian from FF down
Caught Ian from FF down there, cheers for the tickets by way of Alfred. Great sunnies, I think Alfred picked himself up a pair as well.
Embarrassingly, one of the stalls was selling deep-drop gear and telling people you can fish for cod etc during the ban.
New Raymarine e7 looks pretty sexy, nothing new from Furuno, although rumours of early next year for their new kit.
Chiver's Smartwave boats from NZ were pretty fantastic, just $5.5k for a 4.8m open boat. Certainly worth checking out if you're in the market for a dinghy for diving or squidding.

Have to admit that the Smartwave boats is a great way to get on the water. Good to see affordable options appearing on the market.

Each to their own - I was disappointed
And yes I queried the guys selling deep drop gear and they were adamant it was allowed - obviously have a different definition of dimersals - and none of the deep drop had prices or did they add them after I had left

It was ok
I just came back from the show today with my son. A lot of interesting gear in a lot of stands. Well worth the $18 for both of us. Used the shuttle bus for hassle-free parking at the High School. It wasn't free per say though cost $2 which gave secure parking. All in all, a good day

I think the most embarrassing
I think the most embarrassing stand had to be the fish measure stand. They had a gazillion fish measures with the sizes and bag limits which didn't seem correct. Hope those who bought one check before using it to measure their catch or they might get into trouble with fisheries if it is not correct.
Why anyone would make a expensive measure like that when fisheries change the size and bag limits nearly every year is beyond me.
