hey mate, i usually go down in the peel, along peel parade...there are spots where you can park up, usually i park in the area near the toilet block.. have to walk a fair way out, usually to at least waist deep, but i have always found this area pretty good. if its windy can make it hard to see them, so i quite often whack on a snorkel and mask and run around with my head underwater looking like an idiot....works tho!
We tend to do better scooping the eastern side of the Harvey estuary. The ground is sandy instead of muddy and the water clarity is heaps better with lots of broken ground and big sandbars.
We trim right up and drive the boat over shallow water and either drift the flats or drive just in gear and cherry pick the big ones.
