Manji/Pemby area update
Hi all,
Just spent 4 days in the manji/pemby area searching for trout and reddies, so I thought id better put up a bit of info for anyone heading down their. First up the rivers are flowing fast - very fast lures were getting ripped along the rivers at an amazing speed, making it difficult to fish. The rivers are right up and most are hard to get to, river banks that were used to fish from are not existant. Ground conditions are VERY soft under foot making just getting to the spots interesting. Mozzies are about in force and snakes are starting to venture out. Offroad/gravel roads are water logged so take care. We fished the Walggarup, warren, lefroy, donnelly and smith brook for not much luck we even loaded the kids and mrs' s and fished big brook dam for zilch. My friends who we stayed with took me to some private dams ( they got permission as they have property aswell ) still no good. we did manage a few reddies and trout for the 4 days....bit dissapointing really. But the areas we visited, the scenery and good freinds made it all worth while.
Everyone we spoke to said, and I quote " give it a month and the fishing will go off " also... the locals reckon it should be a bumper marron season.
Hope this helps any heading down that way...iv just got to get time off in 4 weeks.
Thanks all Bardzman

Thanks for the update.
I hope to do my bit for the environment soon and get plenty of big Red Fin out of the Warren.
