Caught this manky looking bream a couple of weeks ago down at mosman bay...
Notice anything missing from its back? What do you guys think could have caused this?

when it was little A tailor may have tried to eat it. Or a Cromwell. or When it was seriously small and ungaurded it could have been nipped by a Crab..

but it could also just be deformed

I've come across this before
I've come across this before down in the serpentine river, caught quite a few with this sort of deformation.

was caught in a net when small and released hve caught pinkys lookin the same but 5-6 kgs

I wouldnt be suprised if it may have been caught when it was younger and been put out as a live bait. Maybe got off the hook or the hooked ripped out after being cast/thrown out?
