Margaret River/ Busselton beginner

I'm heading down to Margaret River in about a fortnight and was hoping someone could give me some tips for an amateur fisher. I've tried squidding on Busselton jetty before, but never seemed to catch anything. I've only got some hand-me-down beach rods someone from the forum kindly donated a while back and smaller rods that I normally hunt herring with.
I'm heading down with a bunch of girls who've never fished before, so even tips on what bait/lures of how to knot up a rig would be great! Also, any reccomendations on time and locations?
I'd be pretty stoked if I got tailor, or whiting, never caught them before. Don't think I'll push my luck with something massive, wouldn't knock one back though.
Much appreciated!

4x4 ?
All depends on if you have a 4x4 and what the weather is doing.,
Inside Geographe bay from the shore you can fish with flick rods for herring, skippy whiting and tailor, especially round Meelup, Castle rock bay, Point Piquet, Eagle bay and the northern end of Bunker bay but on the western side of the cape where you will have bigger swell and the need to cast long distance a surf rod is a necessity with the exception of inside Canal Rocks.
All the above spots are accessable by 2wd and all bitumen roads.

Dunsborough
If youre going with a bunch of girls that havent fished before, then serious rock fishing/tailor fishing may be too hard. I have had plenty of luck when fishing with the kids off the beach just a few kms up from the town centre at Dunsborough. Drive down the main st to the beach rd, turn right and go a few kms up. There is a small jetty/ landing at a carpark there from memory, just walk 100m up further. Its an easy place to fish for the newbies, and I have caught whiting herring and flathead mid to late arvo.
As for rigs just google herring or whiting rig for instance, and bring up images. Good tackle stores sell pre made rigs for different species as well. Standard baits would be the usual frozen prawn/squid and maybe some burley.

Cool, thank's a lot! I might
Cool, thank's a lot! I might sneak out early one morning while they're still sleeping off their hangovers to try for some tailor. I've only got a tiny Nissan Pulsar, so no off roading for me.
