Maylands boat ramp

Maylands boat ramp is handy for me to launch from, however as you come in to dock your boat, there are only two cleats on the pontoon, to tie your boat to, and no uprights to grab hold of which makes it hard if the wind is blowing away from the ramp, which makes it hard sometimes, also I see a lot of skipper ticket boats operating from there, can you get your skippers ticket only on the river? What happens when the new skipper goes out into the ocean? When I did mine it was always out from Hillarys or Ocean reef..just wondering.

No cleats

There are no cleats on quite a few of the river jetties . I asume this is to stop the few people that decide its ok to tie up to them for half a day, creating problems for the rest of us doing the right thing.

Stolen

They get stolen, as they fit the same pontoons at marinas.

Let me get this straight

You only applied for your RST, no test no practical testing of your ability to drive a boat, and then a RST shows up in the post.

That can't be right surely. You must be leaving something out of the story, at least that is what I hope or this makes the RST absolutely worthless. Mind you with some of the fools you see on the water these days you ask yourself if these people even know what end of a boat you are supposed to put the motor on.

God give me strength.

 Probably back when the RST

Fri, 2017-12-08 03:18

Probably back when the RST first come out where if you had a boat for over five years you just had to do the theory.
