Mercruiser Manifold and riser

I anyone is looking at doing the Manifold and risers on there Sterndrive then it would be worth checking these guys out from the USA for your parts.

They were very helpfull and the gear turned up in 7 days, all 144pound of it. I save around 30% of the retail price in Oz eveny with express postage, would be more if sent snail mail.I dont get on this forum alot so I will be unable to answer any questions

They had a lot of issues with the internal welds letting go and water going were it is not wanted. I can't remember if it was to do with a welding insue not penetrating or heat or something along those lines.

I only looked at cast ones.

I only looked at cast ones. Like Rod siad there has been a few problems with SS and Ali. I would Definitely  avoid ali. Mixing different types of metals in the marine enviroment is a bad idea generaly as it creates more corossion

Anodes

Sat, 2012-05-05 07:55

Thats what zinc anodes are for. On all marine motors there are sacrificial zinc anodes fitted so that the original part doesn't corrode away.
