Just wondering if anyone has one of these and if you could give me some feedback on them . I was considering buying one and then one of Mercury Dealers put me off it saying they are louder uses more fuel and not much difference in performance than the standard model. any help much appreciated.

I don't see the point of an XS according to the spec sheet it just revs a bit higher. I am sure the motor can take it but unless you are a hard core bass fisher looking for the lowest weight best power then either stick with the normal 150 or step up to a 175 if you need more ponies.

I saw a thread on a Queensland forum on this.
Two mates fitted one of each to their BC's, pro XS was a knot or two quicker, that's all. Different gearcase ratio, a few more HP. Gets different when you get up to 200hp though, the Pro XS's are the V8, derated, and offer significant performance advantage over the v6 of the same cowling rating.
