Mercury150 Four Strokes
Submitted by Travisd on Thu, 2014-09-25 20:36
Anybody running one of these on their tub.
Typically have run Yamaha on most of my boats but these look quite interesting
Old motor was 189kg and these aren't much heavier so the extra horses would be nice
They look simple to service too
Thanks

Good motor
Have heard that they are pretty good.
Also Suzuki make an excellent 4 stoke too. Had some excellent reports of them. The 150hp weight in at 215kg which is about 9kg heavier than the Merc.

48knots is crazy
This is for an 18'6 Glass dive boat. Carrying 6 tanks and three sets of gear most of the time. Did think about the 140ASuzi at 179kgs or the 150 Merc at 206kgs, or the F115B Yamaha at 179KG's too. Looking forward to the boat show this year!

Yeah. Bit out there speed
Yeah. Bit out there speed wise I think. I'm just touching 49 knots in my 17r running a 150 etec. Played with props and set up a fair bit to get that quick. Can't see a 4 stroke on a bigger boat getting it.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

My brother has one on his bcrusher, very happy.
If you compare to all the other 4 strokes on the market at the moment, the stats look good
