Mindarie Night Fish - Saturday 28th - Cancelled
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Fri, 2006-10-27 17:47
Saturday: E'ly winds 10/15 knots shifting S/SW 10/15 knots late morning, increasing to 15/23 knots during the afternoon.
Well I'm sorry to say it guys but I think tomorrow is going to be another blow out. I am cancelling Saturday's night fishing as I think safety is paramount and after numerous marine fatalities in the past month or two I don't think it is worth taking risks over. I would still love to meet up with you guys that help make the site what it is, I will try an organise a pub meet for a few weeks time.
Cheers,
Adam

Cancelled
I think we may have left it a bit late in the season for the night fish as the seabreeze is going to make it difficult from now on and cray pot season isnt far around the corner either.
Maybe we should just make it a day invitational out of Mindarie meeting at the ramp at 6 or 6.30. Probably be a bit easier, would people be keen for that?

Make it 5-00am or 5-30am
Leave it too late and you will get all the traffic at the ramp. Sunrise is about 5-30am these days so the earlier the better (IMHO).
I'll be there for sure. Though this weekend I am in Queensland on a conference, so no fishing for me.

A break
So the dhufish population gets a break, hope its enough time for them to get their numbers up. :)
Was thinking 6am was more gentlemans hours for the blokes that have to travel 30-45 mins to get to Mindarie, but yes, that Mindarie traffic chaos is pretty bad leading into Summer, sigh!

Hahaha....I'm not that good!!
I'm lucky if I go fishing 20 times a year Adam, and maybe only 15 of those are out of Mindarie. The humble dhuie has eluded me on more than the odd occasion, so whilst we joke that I come home with a dhuie every trip, its not quite that easy.
Though I can't deny I haven't been exceptionally lucky this past 12 months, so yeah I'll give em some time to rest and procreate without my interferance so you can catch a couple and maye brak the 10kg hoodoo. I was only thinking last night that I need to get out and look for a few new target species to spice it up a bit. Maybe a bit of a tailor session out at Staggies might be on the cards or even a bit of a bream bash in the swan, as I haven't done that in a while.
Point taken on the gentlements hours but with only two ramps it will be pretty bad trying to get out all at the same time. Maybe we just all launch whenever and stay in contact on the radio and meet back at the ramp for a few beers in the carpark at a pre-determined time afterwards to compare the catch.
Cheers

mhhh change of plan for sure!
Yeh Adam I was thinking the same ie wrong time.....missed it by a month IMO
I agree with Andy Mac re launch at your preferred boat ramp (this will reduce chaos) and meet up at ie 3/4pm at a set boat ramp car park as mentioned!
A few beers, share stories and meet people!
I'm in!
