Mixed Bag Today

Took the forums advice and hit up the Gemini today. Managed to grab a decent sambo on squid quite a distance off the side of the wreck. Not much else around though.

Also managed to pick up a couple blokes about 4 mile off Quinns Beach after we first saw the bow of their boat sticking out of the water. They were drifting with their esky about 500m away, been in the water around 40 minutes they thought. Apparently the stern on the old glass boat let go and dropped the motor off completely, swamping the hull in seconds. They managed to dive for the epirb and activate it, and the rest remains in the hull I assume. I have marked the spot and will go have a dive on it when I am back from Albany and Busso in the New Year.

Do insurance companies try to recover a fully sunk hull normally? Will be a good cray spot next season I think. Best part is no one else has the co ords.

well done on the rescue. as far as salvaging the boat, it deoends on how deep it is. if its shallow they might get someone to retrieve it but maybe just the gear on it
