Gday all,
Long time reader, first post.
Had a lovely little morning session out snorkelling from the kayak with a few mates.
Got a feed of crabs, Speared 3 occy and managed to nab a nice sea mullet with the spear on the way back in.

Yeah, out in the sound, still
Yeah, out in the sound, still plenty around. I'm pretty sure we only have the month of April left before season closes again.

It depends on the situation
It depends on the situation and number of people, he said he went snorkling with a few mates,,its 10 per person or 20 per boat ,,so maybe 50-60 in this case ?
Nice feed

Spot on Shorty. There were 4 of us. Could have easily got 40, all above board, but thats waaaaaay too many crabs.
7 each was a lovely feed for each of us to share with our better halves.
Has been good to see the Fisheries boys out and about checking in recent times as well.

Faulkners,The old occy, used
Faulkners,
The old occy, used to always chuck it in the freezer and try and convert it into Dhuies... but.....have been cooking it up lately and dang, I don't think I'll have much left for bait in the future. Bloody beautiful. I could never get it tender, but I have got that sorted now as well. Boil in saltwater for 1-1.5hrs. All the skin an suckers come off really easy. It's then lovely and tender and up to your imagination how to serve it. I have done a lemon vinaigrette type dressing and served with a salad. Also hard to beat a little marinade in chilli sauce and quick pan fry. Anyone got the low down on pickling them?

Might have to give that
Might have to give that boiling in saltwater trick a try!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
