Have any members of the Mandurah Fishing and Sailing club seen the latest money grab decision? The committee in their wisdom have decided to charge all fully paid up members a fee of $40 to park their boat at the club jetty overnight. However if another club is invited to an event at the club this fee is waived! So the people who pay the fees to keep the club running are the ones who get screwed to use the club facilities. I hope they eventually work out that the money they lose through people cancelling their memberships is much more than the money they hoped to screw out of the members for this rediculous fee.

As far as I can work out from the web site, it's $224 plus a levy for this and a levy for that. They will probably throw in a jetty levy too.

Its a great shame, how these
Its a great shame, how these clubs are now all charging such high membership fees. If only the curent committe, knew the humble beginings of these clubs, then maybe, they might not overprice their costs. I do understand that they have running costs and overheads, but what about, the average member of these clubs, that built it from the foundations.

All I can say is that
The AGM before the last they mentioned that they lost 1100 members yes thats right 1100. They have just had there annual agm and this is the outcome. Been a member for years my number being the 200's its a crying shame to see this happen.
I think the boatie is the least of there worries these days the social and sailing side of things has overriden the old fishing club days now.

Its a great shame Garry, I
Its a great shame Garry, I have never been a member but have been in the old Fishing Comp that was fished by everyone at one time. Always enjoyed the company at the weigh in's. I also remeber with great fondness, of how the Mandurah Boat show begun, it was a fund raiser for the Emergency Water Rescue and admission was by Gold Coin donation, mind you, there was just a handful of boats and engines and now, its gone skywards.

Pity as it was a great landbased comp.
