if you can and the boat carries enough fuel ,ie, shitloads . try fishing off the end of dirkhartog in an area called turtle bay, plenty of good ground and good fish. from denham it was a 36nm trip each way

You don't have to go to Turtle Bay for decent fishing. Have seen Yellowfin Tuna off the end of the Monkey Mia Jetty. Big Cobia, Pinkies , The Biggest Tailor, Trevs, Mulloway, Emperor etc etc just off MM. Head North around to Peron for BIG TROUT and all sorts. Mackeral turn up everywhere. Have fun.

Monkey Mia Point

You don't even need a Boat for fishing at Monkey Mia. The point, which is about 100 to 200 metres south of the boat ramp offers excellent fishing.

On dusk there are tailor are everywhere and then after dark it really fires up. Have personally caught a 20kg + Mulloway there as well as big reef, bronze whaler and shovelnose sharks.

A short cast off the point puts you into the channel and 10-12 metres + of water, and as too what is lurking in there your guess is as good as mine.

Oh, if you want to see just how quick and powerful the sharks or whatever else is lurking just off shore are, put a 75cm light stick just above a paternosta rig. The light doesn't seem to distract the fish or sharks from your bait and during a run you can see the night light zooming all over the bay, quite a sight to see.
