Montes or Abroholos

Looking at doing the Montes or Abroholos maybe both next year.
Anyone reccomend a good company or going them selfs next year and got room on there charter for another?
Would probbably prefer montes as i want to try for a GT but both are good :)

Advantages of the abrolhos: closer, less days off (4 days off work, 4 fishing), cheaper. I've always got heaps of fish there too. Might get bigger fish and more at the montes plus often less people on board (5 vs 8 compared to some). Haven't been to the montes, but the abrolhos is great (went once for first time last year and twice this year, hopefully 3 times)

Haha i do like your thinking and i suppose i will be plenty over due for some holidays by the time it rolls around next time thinking both may just be the option haha! Who did you go with matt and would you reccomend them?

Saltwater charters and would
Saltwater charters and would definately recommend. Always get lots of fish and good variety of fish, spots and types of fishing (awesome casting at baitschools and across shallow reefs and plastic fishing in 10m instead of just doing 40s all the time). I think I saw two wrasse last trip so all quality spots too (and move around instead of fishing out lumps). Food is good and Craigs a Great skipper and great bloke too.

I've done both and both are great. Going to the Monties will take more time steaming out but it's worth it. I don't know if any there really specialize in GT popping there, all of my trips to the Monties have been on private boats so we could do what we wanted.
I'd recommend trying to get to both at some stage, I love the Monties but the Abrolhos trips I've done have been really great for somewhere closer to Perth.

Im with Tim. Did the Abrolhos a fair bit when I grew up in Gero and now the Montes are just down the road so trying to experience them as much as possible. Both are an experience not to be missed.
All my trips have been on private boats so couldnt recommend a charter.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Thanks guys well may as well do both am going to have to go buy a bunch of gear for these trips so that will give me more motivation to organise to do it more :) still open to suggestions for charter boats and if anyone is interested in coming next year would be nice to go with someone from fishwrecked :P

Go both if you can
Abrolhos can be a bit windy, but close and a good mixture of species available.
Monte's, you can't go past Bernie Vales boat Mahi Mahi II they run a top operation and the steam to the Islands is spent Marlin fishing!!!
There is a photo album on here I did up of my last trip with Bernie (under Mahi Mahi) so you can see what sort of fish we caught.
