Mouth broke

Mon, 2012-09-17 15:54

The missus and I thought we'd go up late Saturday arvo just gone

to putt up the river and find somewhere nice to anchor up for the night.

When we eventually got to the ramp we found it impossible to launch as the

tide was extremely low due to the broken mouth, may be launch able in a dinghy but

not in our 18ft pacemaker :(

No way mate, no chance. I was

No way mate, no chance. I was there on Saturday...as mentioned the river was pretty low and still flowing out to sea but looks to be at the tail end of the outflow. There were boats launched there throughout the day, particularly a rather large one as well, so I don't see why you can't launch a tinny there. had a look further upstream around the bottom of Moore River Rd ( i think...just where the carpark near the steps down to the river are) and people were in their tinnies fishing.

Worth a shot I reckon, I saw people catching bream left right and center and they were reasonable size as well. Also, I ran into an old work mate and much to my surprise he had a salmon in his bucket! I shit you not. Was about 30cm and rather fat...looked like a collosal herring as it had heaps of yellow spots but it was definately a salmon.
