My personal preference is a perfection loop knot, but I definitely agree on attaching a jig head, lead head etc with some kind of loop knot. Direct knots to the eye really kill the action.
Some people simply don't agree that a direct connection to the lure will hinder it's movement but I guess this depends on many factors, line weight playing a major part in this

I’ve always used this knot, but I know it as a Rapala loop knot. Agree, it’s very easy to tie.
