My first, and what a cracker

Hiya all, long time lurker and only just getting back into my fishing.
Recent (work) trip up north has paid off. My first coral trout and from what I can work out, a decent size.
82 cm, but no weight. Conservative was around 11kg. Greedy bugger still had decent size leather jacket in it's mouth.

tried to get a pic of it
tried to get a pic of it being measured, but the guys on the back deck wanted it back in the water as quickly as they could. It had put up a decent fight, and they were hoping to get it swimming and back to it's mum and dad.
I was a bit pissy that I didn't, and we couldn't find the scales. My guess was around 11kg, one of the guys on the back said it was about the same as his travel bag which was 13kg.
either way... what a sweet sweet way to bust my cherry

nice trout! surprised it didn't get released into the esky
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Great fish mate. It's a Blue Spot and at that length I would call it for less than 10 kilos, probably around 8.
