My Jurien Highlights
My own personal account from the Jurien trip with Chrisp, Daz, Schecky and TimVB from Thursday/Friday. There were simply too many highlights for one report, so here are a few of my own captures from Thursday and Friday to supplement Chrisp's excellent report.
Boys, great trip, great company, great skipper but sack the deckie....hahaha......man that young fella could fish! I learnt a thing or two from the young fella....never too old to learn eh!
Friday was the best days fishing I have ever had, enough said. Most fish were released apart from a couple of small pinkies, baldies and yellowfin tuna we kept for a fresh feed.
Heading out, what a sight......
I know what your thinking Daz.......if we spent less on fishing gear, we would be able to afford something better than a few jam donuts for breaky!
The PE5 gear ready for a spot of sambo stretching on dawn.....ended in tears for me, with 2 big fish pulling the hooks, and a couple of Mackie snip offs thinning my jig stocks.
Bring out the PE2 gear, and the sambo's come out to play....only a small one, but plenty of fun on PE2.
My PB pinkie of 88 cm, on PE2 on day1. Went quite hard and called it for a sambo. Released excellently as most pinkies do.
Another PE2 pinkie.....Chrisp was meanwhile pulling in 3 pinkies for every one of mine! Released.
Twin hookup of red bight fish on jig for me and Daz on day1. Nice variety. If its red, its dead I am afraid.......
Gotta chuck in the big dhu one more time....yep, I was stoked! Never thought I would better a 98 cm dhu on PE2 I got earlier in the year on my boat, but this one went a genuine 100 cm and with 30 lb leader, it was touch and go. After a long battle on light gear, we revived the worn out dhu with the big deck flush into its mouth for a few minutes while Whitey released the air out from the air bladder, it started thumping its tail and biting down hard the hose indicating it was ready to go......we gave it every chance to survive and released back to the depths hopefully to make more dhuies.

once again , a top trip.
Why is it , I can't seem to go on a charter when I have a boat. It's bloody obvious you'll learn a load.
great trip and pb's smashed. well done
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

brg, my demersal jigging
brg, my demersal jigging outfit used is a Majorcraft Alexander PE1.5-3 rod, Stella SW4000PG running PE2 YGK braid and 30 lb leader.
Thanks to Daz for the recommendation, very sweet outfit, very delicate yet enough balls for almost any local demersal.
