Nairns Boat Ramp - Mandurah

Was think of using this Boat Ramp instead of the Navara Ramp to get into the peel Inlet for some crabbing. It is listed as a 5 bay concrete boat ramp. I drive down from Perth and thought it may be worth a try.

Any experiences access, the actual ramp and parking?? I have a 6.1M Quintrex.

Not sure about how a 6.1m would go. But used by many locals as it is close to the estuary being actually on the Serpentine River. Parking IMO is small.

Parking can be a drama when the crabs are around...worst case scenario is maybe 100m or so walk back to the ramp.

Ive used the one on the other side of the river. Furnisdale Road, which runs straight off Pinjarra Rd. Alot more parking than the Coodanup side and the ramp is about the same.

Tried launching there once...

...5.8m Ali. Low tide, ramp seemed to have very gradual incline, hull never touched the water. My rollers don't roll so ended up going around to Nairns where I've never had launching issues. But yes, Furnissdale does have more parking and pretty sure it's got jetties!

No Problem

I use that ramp quite a bit to launch the tinnie, have seen boats up around 7 metres being launched/retrieved without any problems.

You shouldn’t have any problem with a 6.1.

There is a jetty.

Biggest problem, as mentioned, is parking. Just get there early and you won’t have to walk too far.

Some shallow water around, but if you stick to the channel markers you’ll be OK.

Report on ramp

No probs launching 6.1 Quinney. Only issue it is tight turning into launching bay with longer boats /trailers (only 2 ramps) Depth of ramp is fine but have rollers on my trailer. If you keep to channel marker to the estuary the depth is fine.
