Nav Hazard - Port Geo Marina
Just in case anybody missed it ......
Temporary Notice to Mariners
Navigational Hazard
Shallowing of Marina Entrance Channel
Port Geographe Marina
Mariners are advised that, due to the accretion of moving seagrass wrack, some
areas of the Port Geographe Marina entrance channel have shallowed significantly.
The affected area extends from the outer entrance of the marina channel to the
start of the inner canals.
There is a moving seagrass wrack layer in this area which may vary significantly in
thickness and position over short time frames.
Further details including a recent depth sounding plan of the area may be obtained
from the Department of Transport website at;
http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/imarine/19103.asp
Mariners are advised to navigate with extreme caution, allowing for the
changing sea bed conditions, and to consider local tidal variations when
planning to traverse this area.
