Navionics on tablets

Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone can give me advise.
I want to load the navionis APP onto a Samsung Tablet that I do not use anymore. Hoping to use on the boat for navigation, while leaving my Lowrance set on bottom scan, sort of like running 2 full screen. Hopefully wont have to buy a second hand GPS unit if I can use the tablet
My question is this, if I download the App onto the Tablet, do I have to have a sim card installed to enable the Navionics APP to work on the tablet ??

Yeah, I might sound dumb, but I don't know how else to get the question answered

Yep it works on the Samsung. Yes you do need a sim. I tried it using my mobile as a hotspot. No go.

You will also need to set the tablet not to go into power save mode. Also a good idea to have power rigged up on your boat. Navionics can us a bit of battery.

Really easier on an ipad I think. I'm trialling it now.

You'll find it very hard to precisely mark spots but apart from that I only used my phone in my dinghy and found the app to be excellent

I use mine on my Samsung tablet and dont have a sim card in it.  As long as the tablet has a Gps installed on it you should be right.

No you do not need a SIM card, only a GPS enabled tablet - I run a Samsung galaxy tab and a lowrance side by side and now problem .

buggered if I can get the Navionics app to work on my Samsung tablet. I have it on my Samsung phone & computer, but it is playing penis heads with my Tablet. It just keeps going blank
