Navman 4500

Just curious if anyone knows if you can fit a bigger transducer to this unit? Or does anyone have a bigger transducer on this unit?

Currently got a 600 on it but unsure if it can handle a 1kw?

Would it be worth it? or would a better option be to upgrade to sometime like a Furuno 585 with a 1kw transducer?

Cheers Fellas

no experience with navman myself.

I have just installed the humminbird side imaging 798

but my second choice was a 620

but I have been on boats with the 585 and it is a very good unit

yeah Ive seen the 585's aswell, nice units, but wondering weather i spend the cash now on a new unit, or put a new transducer on for now and see how i go.

I could save the pennys for the Furuno 295... but that would require the missus permission on that one!

Would transducers be 'movable' to different sounders?

ok, apparently you cant run a 1kw transducer with this sounder, as the output of the cunit is 600w.
