Broome Boat Ramps

About time the population know that for the visiting fisho Broome suxs as a place to take your boat. There is no ramps and the beach launching for the Broome novice can be and has been a challenge. The local member Carol Martin says that the people in Broome should be happy that they have so many places to launch a boat. I will tell you that it will cause a melt down in Family relations, a shit of a days fishing, and then a remeltdown on return. Tourist town yes, for us fishing folk, forget it unless you are local and have all the gear.

I found the ramps at the port really good.  You have to remember these guys have massive tides so you need to plan your launch and retrieve arounds the tides, i don't think your going to be able to have to tides changed to suite.

It is about a tourism town with no facilities to launch a boat for any visiting newby's. Not picking on you Tony, but we have experience and still had trouble. Not realy a invite for the people new at the game is it.

Cheers

with all the money visitors bring in then the Carol's comments seem a little abstract......

the best ramps are at the club adjacent to the jetty but could be improved.

worst thing I found was that the rubbernecks would pull right up on the end of the ramp and block the ramp?.....go figure?

The Broome Fishing Club and most of the Broome fishing community and at present doing there best to convince government authorities that now it the time to act and get some half decent boat launching facilities in Broome.

Don't worry its not only tourist that have troubles launching and retrieving in Broome, I have witnessed many locals come unstuck and have had some very close calls myself.

If you have any complaints or just want to have your say about the Broome boat ramp situation please send me a PM and I will forward them to the Broome Fishing Club and they will forward them to the Minister.

We need as many complaints and letters as possible so please don't hesitate to write.
