Hi I need to put some rod holders in my fibreglass boat but only have 85mm of room on the gunnel and all the rod holders ive looked at have flanges that are bigger. There is a grab rail along the edge so I could use rail mounts butI dont really trust them. What do you guys use any suggestions would be apreciated. Has anyone used this slide in type of holder.

I have similar to these.

I would trust these mounted to the rail way more than the ones in the pic...

have you looked at the narrow-topped ones?
I had a similar issue with my Swiftcraft, and found some in BCF. They are a lot stronger than those crappy rolled-top wide ones which are only spot welded together anyway, as they are fully welded.. But they are cheaper on ebay. have a look at these, i've bought them and they are ok. The BCF ones ( Blueseas?) are twice the price.
