I will be targeting the elusive big ol LB snapper so what would be better livies or fillets/deadbaits ect.

Ive got a heap of mullet n whiting in the freezer ready for bait and will probably just chuck em out whole n filleted

You need to be there before

You need to be there before sun up, any half decent beach rod with spinning reel will do....14-20lb main line and 40-80lb mono trace..any fresh bait is good but hardier the better..scalies or yellow tail to last longer with pickers..your whiting whole is good also, dont bother with mulies unless last resort...check bait reasonable regulary.

I run a similar rig as mentioned above when fishing from the rocks...Sinker running on your main line before swivel, youll need a bit of PFC pipe as a rod holder 1.5m long by 2'' should fit ya rod butt...head lamp etc etc.

You need to get the bait out there..not a 100 meters but away from wall.....pull in slack...have ya drag pre set! sit it in the rod holder and wait...small glow stick on rod tip can help for night fishing but not critical....when bringing it in dont phuk around.....get up high give it a good heave to get off bottom them wind like frig...this to get it up and away from rocks...careful for last bit you or the car behind ya dosn't want to wear the star sinker!! If going for snapper this is a start...once the suns up you could flick a small rod...float on surface for smaller fair or bottom with sinker.

Good luck...theres plenty being caught and perfect time or year!

Agree with everything but the line

30lb min, I run 50lb braid and at times it doesn't feel like enough. 60-100lb leader ideally.

Heavier line also helps when it's busy, dont want to get tangled fishing silly string when you've got a good fish on the end

Chunks of herring were my bait of choice chasing pinks of the groynes, only downside is ray's love herring too.
