Find somewhere you like,
Find somewhere you like, chuck a line in the water and see what you catch. Thats how we all do it when we start out.

anywhere along the
anywhere along the ffb, inside or outside wont matter atm as the fish are in close from most reports by those diving. how big is your boat ? then others have an idea how far you might be able to go.

anchor and burley over a
anchor and burley over a drop off on ffb , wait and see
not on top unless you like rays , port jacksons and wrasse
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Look for pro cray pots...
Another good way when your just starting out is to look where the pros are dropping pots and plot it on your gps. They have very expensive echo sounders and pick up ground that looks like nothing on cheaper versions usually plot it and wait till theyve moved out and go explore it a bit when the pots are gone but if u cant resist to drop in make sure u tie a good knot in the rope of the cray pot if u snag it. Will let the crayboat deckie know and he wont cop a sinker in the head..

I was down Mandurah way this morning fishing with
Sherbs and the Frigate birds were going off, about a km off the coast from Madorah Bay. I was wishing I had a 5m tinny.

pluto i have a 4.8 quinnie and do what is suggested above. i have been a lot further out out back of the ffb. You really need to pick the weather anything more than 10kn winds and i stay inside the ffb....still good fishing in there....drifting.

5 fathom bank
just back of garden island is the five fathom bank, thats the way i know it ,but if you get a chart at any boat store or tackle shop that stock them, you will get a rough idea on where to fish, try in cockburn sound and you can catch squid around many weed banks, herring if you berley up,snapper in winter after a storm if your lucky, also crabs in season.if you want some information get a copy of fishing the wild west at your tackle shop or news agengency, its got a lot of information on locations and fish in western australia, hope this helps pluto
