Booked to go on a 5 day Abrolhos charter starting Wednesday of next week. I hope to god it doesn't turn ugly and cancel our Abrolhos trip but will have to see what transpires for the next few days

Yeha......
Yesterday was low chance of it developing. Today its nearly already a cyclone. Tommorow a cat2 . Dying before it hits the coast in a few days time? If we go on what the last one did will probably be a cat3 or4 and smash exy again. They said the last one was only goin to get to cat 2 that changed pretty quick and nearly ended up cat 4.

I'm off to Hope Downs Village tomorrow, so hopefully it stays to the west if it comes through the Pilbara.

The radar says its belting down. Bit of stuff on fb about there being cyclonic winds already. Trees down, power off....
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Photos
I have a boat up there at the moment on one of the private jetties on the canals.
If anyone is up there and bored, I would love it if they don't mind taking a photo of the boat "post cyclone" for me so I can see if anything is damaged or I need to head up sooner rather then later.
Block is 32 Corella Court and the boat is a 42ft Caribbean called Sea Eagle. I can offer a trip out as a thankyou when I am up that way next.
My email is

Anyone heading up i would
Anyone heading up i would postpone, Plenty of rain alot of flooding in the area, power lines down and power cut to most of the town. Trees and lots of damage already reported. Wind gusts to 160km/hr and still blowing. Cyclone due to hit sometime tonight but who knows what it will be. BOM says it's going to fizzle out to a low system yet they didn't say it would blow like this either.
Jd if I get a chance tomorrow I will pop down and have a look for you.

I think BOM were slightly off
I think BOM were slightly off on their prediction as the wind here (exy) has already swung around to the south/SW so seems to have passed over already but it was WILD from about 9-11am!
Wind gusts in the marina were reported at 165km/h.

Yeh well what can I say.
Tellin us its 250km away on blue alert 7.30am, Radar looked like it was goin to hit within the hour. 8.30am 60-80km winds absolutely pissin down .Grey nomads tryin to get there annexes down was a bit of a sight. Not much damage but there were some good gusts must have been a few around 150km. Wind stopped within minutes and the sun came out hasnt blown since.

Saw you guys at the Caltex
Saw you guys at the Caltex today. Good luck on the fishing front weather should come good by Wednesday. Those that headed out today found it hard to find clean water out at the islands. Best bet would be to head out from tantas and go south looking for the clean water. Will be out there from thursday for a few days. Good luck

yup
She surely was a good storm, one of the best I've seen in 10 years of the north west. 3 rolled cars and a rolled boat on the sides of the highway heading back to Karratha yesterday and a heap of water over the road at nanaturra but still passable. (wouldn't want any more rain though)
