Bloody thing should've been built 10 years ago ...I hear now if the labs get in they're going revert it back to the Subi site with I think they said a 40000 capacity ..rather than the burswood site that the libs want to do... I think burswoods the go personally , what do you guys think ...

Def Burswood. Why the F^%k
Def Burswood. Why the F^%k would you change now after all the millions already spent researching. It will be delayed by years if they go with Subi. The place is a nightmare to get in and out of.Like you say Chris the bloody thing should've been built years ago in the last so called boom when labour was in power.Should be built to plan for 80000 imo

Idiot!
If he is going to change it and only add 8000 seats then I reckon the 30,000+ eagles and dockers fans on the memebers waiting lists won't vote for him!
30'000 votes would probably swing this election I reckon!!
Cheers

So far as I understand the
So far as I understand the Subi site wont be expandable ...there's noise restrictions in place there so concerts and any other loud events will have to be dampened or not happen ...also there'll be disruptions there whilst being built ...I just think it's going backwards ...whereas the burswood site would obviously be in proximity other large entertainment venues , close to the city , easier access from all areas and hopefully alot larger capacity 80'000 at least..

Burswood for me plus
Go the Burswood...think big...performance enhancing drug outlets, offices for wheeling and dealing, clean urine sample outlet, a couple of paddocks for some calves too...O and Mr Armstrong as Chief Ex.
Dont get me wrong this is to just cover the needs of the Eastern Seaboard clubs.
Collingwood excluded of course aye Eddy dont want Buckles to blow another fuse! Tainted who is really tainted...
All WA need is a hair dressor and a big mirror...o thats right he went back to uni did he not...?
Bring on the "Need Another Bong" Cup
Juices may flow now...LOL?

Keep it at Burswood...Labor
Keep it at Burswood...Labor and their hair brained ideas, first Metro Net now this. The whole idea of going to Burswood is to build a bigger and better complex than just tacking on a few seats here and there at Subi.

Packer donation
If Packer is going to donate towards building it next to his casino plus new expanded hotel, yes, if he is't move it elsewhere because he
's the one who will profit with where Barnett and his cronies want it.
Kitchener park has't got a rubbish dump situated underneath it with all sorts of nasties waiting to pop out once they break ground. The whole Burswood site was a major rubbish dump for years and who knows whats buried there.

just how much is the afl
just how much is the afl going to put in towards this stadium, never mind a small donation and how much is packer going to put in lets see 1billion thats a lot of hospitials in regional areas new schools. If the afl want it let them fund it not the tax payers of WA who don't follow football

Burswood dump
I agree with building a big new stadium, but Burswood may not be the right spot. You'll have the same traffic problems getting in and out with a car (not as bad as Subi) No railway near by Going o rely on bus transferrs. The costing for site works at Burswood was the highest for any of the option available, The rubbish dump that was there now Kitchener park is/was reclaimed land/swamp. There's a lot of vacant land just down the road from me would be prefect to build a very large stadium and supporting sports facilities. But that won't suit the North of the river residents. But at lest I won't have to travel to far.HAHA

Understand location of train station
This is the plan that is for the location of the Barnett option. I understand that the Burswood station is near the casino but to get to and from stadium would require a decent walk like Subiaco, or as this plan shows a new station. This is on the north end of the golf course.

Bit of info from the FAQ site.
http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/new-stadium-to-be-built-at-kitchener-park-under-labor-government/story-e6frg13u-1226577965103
I got it wrong saying that Kitchener park is reclaimed land/rubbish dump. I was referring to the site on Burswood.
I dont agree with either of the Subiaco options. Will take to long to be up and ready. But not totally sold on the Burswood option. Alot of money will be spent digging up the past andthan back filling.
I'm sure there's other option. The Dockers in conjunction with the Cockburn council are going to spend X amount of dollars for a new training facility/oval which as far as I understand will not have AFL games played there I'm sure that with the AFL's investment as well as private investors i.e. James Packer and with the Eagles and Dockers contribution the should be no need for tax payers money to be used.
How many stadiums around the country are selling naming rights for extra mone. Who owns the SCG, MCG? are other stadiums over east owned by the state government?
If the WA state government could build this stadium and than run it at a profit to benefit tax payers or spend the money on wages for nurses, police or other facilities NEEDED in WA I say go for it.

I Agree, big mistake
I Agree, big mistake announcing a change of location for the stadium if elected...
How many millions has already been spent?
To build in the location he is suggesting in Subi will require homewest houses to be relocated, and the state government to buy 37 privately owned homes. Imagine if your one of the people who owns and lives in one of theses 37 houses.... not doing to be easy at all.

The reason Barnett didn't
The reason Barnett didn't want money donated from Packer was that he was worried it would cause another WA inc episode. But if the deals are put before the public honestly he should be made to pay a reasonable sum. He doesn't own the land we do but he will benefit.

Questions to be asked
Still questions to be asked on why Barnett gave him a $38 million discount to buy OUR land for his new pub.

Destroy a great golf course
what about the fact that they will destroying one of the best public golf courses in Perth. Why not build it where belmont race course is. Already has training station and road access. We don't need 2 race courses
Also how many time is Subiaco oval filled to capacity. Twice a year at the derby games. So why even build a new stadium.
We need for infastructure out in the suburbs. How about building the new Ocean Reef Marina. We are not all sports fans who want to watch AFL live, I can do that from the comfort of my home at no cost.

I agree with the Belmont
I agree with the Belmont racecourse idea. That place is an eyesore and we do need a new venue. Subi is a pain in the arse to get in and out of. Don't worry the place will fill up. There are literally thaousands of want to be members and general punters who can't get to see a weekly game.

Ascot Racecourse floods or
Ascot Racecourse floods or gets very soft over winter making it unsuitable and unsafe for racing. I think the money could be better spent on fixing our fucked up health system or education services.
