Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2006-10-30 10:37
Hi Guys,
I've started a new forum for divers and snorkellers after a few people brought it to my attention that we really need this section. Hopefully we can get it going with some interesting and informative information.
Here is where the forum is located:

Cheers,
Adam

todays dive
Had two dives today out of the cut. Approx. 10 NM SW of the entrance
1st in 26 metres, second one in 14 metres.
Was happy to see 6 jumbo crays still on the 26 metre spot and a handful of legal size in the 14 metre spot.
Other fish we saw, a nice blue grouper, Harliquen, queen snapper, braeksea cod, two dhuies one undersize, one oversize.
Took a cod with the spear gun, and the dive partner lost the big dhuie.
Visability in 26 metres was excellent, 14 metres was a bit cloudy.
All in all very good day for the first dive in a couple of months, and looking forward to 15th November.

big crays
Hey andrew 64,
Yes still jumbos about! Took 5 off this same spot last year. Plus a bag limit of normal crays. The theory we work on is the jumbo's will always attract the other cray's, so if we leave a few jumbos and only dive it once a year, it should alway produce crays. I was a little disappointed about the number of good fish on it. Its not a lump, but more of a circle shaped indent with a ledge about 400mm high all around it. Last year when I dove on it, it had a lot more quality fish on it. Not much other structure around it so it's more or less the pub in the desert.

crays/abalone
Got my bag limit of abalone on sunday with a few mates ,tasted good afterwards with a beer.First time for one of them he liked them so will do it again.
Had about 5 or 6 seals come and have a close look at us the kids thought that was fun and thay didnt bite any of us so my boys will still get in the water next time out.
Had a talk to the guys at mindarie dive on sat said there was lots of crays out on the strip so looking good for the 15th.A mate yesterday cought two dhuies and one schnapper out from eglington rocks (wish i could take more time off work like him)showed me some pics will have to work out how to put pictures on this site soon.

Hi Andrew
Sounds great mate, all forming up for a good cray season. Can't knock a good feed of abs either, sounds like your blessed with a pretty good selection of seafood!!! Would love to see a few pics of the dhus/snap.
To add pictures to the site go:
Up the top left click create content -> Image -> Put in description, which gallery to put it in, add the file, dont click preview just click submit and it should be up there.
Only thing to worry about is making sure the photo isn't too big in size , is a .jpg file and doesnt have any hyphens or /-+', commas in the file name.
Cheers,
Adam
