Not the first time he has been rescued
This bloke was up at the Abrohlos early May when we were there. He put out a call one evening for help as he was being blown onto the reef just outside Pelseart Group. We were on the inside on anchor and were about an hour away from him. He ended up being rescued by one of the cray boats and towed in. It was dark, windy and rough seas that night and he must have been shitting himself. Luckily the local boys were on hand to help him out. They are some treacherous seas out there.

Sadly there is nothing the authorities can do to stop these idiots attempting these things.
Here in Carnarvon we have a boater who brings shivers up the spines of the sea rescue radio operators when he signs on because 8 out of 10 times he goes out something happens and we not only have to find him but tow him in as well. If there was anyone who needs a long occy strap with one end secured to the jetty and the other to his boat he wins hands down.

found out that english canoest woman that was rescued at Leeman, was charged $31,000 salvage by the crayboat that went and got her, apparently the crayboat owner, gave her a serve and a half, her ears were blue. 4 meter waves, she was near the corner break and took the crayboat 4hrs to tow her in another stupid idiot.
The government should ban these idiots, as a volunteer may die one day rescuing these stupid idiots.
