A new marine park has just been announced by the State government at Horizontal Falls. Recreational fishing will still be allowed.

Early News This Morning
Colin Barnett was up in Broome at a Liberal Party meeting and got heckled by about 100 protesters who oppose the James Price Point gas hub. An hour later there's an anouncement about the new marine park. It doesn't get much more obvious than that the green vote has got this state govt. rapped around their little finger.

Greens
Greens got there fingers in lots of pies, state and federal. I'm hoping they get them burnt federally this year and at the state level, I'm hoping the SFP can have a good showing and counteract the green stain in WA.

No Consultation
Just read that both Rec-fishwest and WAFIC have had no consultation with the State Govt. regarding the new marine parks and only knew about them by reading the newspaper. Just shows how highly respected the fishing community is by this state govt. considering the size of the sanctuary zones. NOT
