Looks like Roe does get extended, back flip on there Greeny mates, with a breakwater when its already protect by Garden Island...looks like a pipe dream.
Setting it up for the Liberal party to take over 2025.
Worked on and around the steel, baulk and grain terminals for years. I can tell you the ships get pushed around by the weather alot more than freo. Seen many a mooring line snap, work gets dodgy in a strong sea breeze. The politicians keep changing the plans no rock walls no dredging no harm to the sea grass, no snapper breeding grounds. West Port is just a means to an end. We will see, government owned, I'm going to call bullshit on that one now.
My office is right now about 20m from the water and even though we are yet to get green water on the windows, some of the north westerly fronts really smash us on the beach.
Although I am personally glad that i dont lose my view out the window with the proposal just south of us and the Desalination plant, the proximity to the source of a huge amount of the metro areas drinking water is a bit of a concern.
It looks as if it will absorb the reefy patch where we get arrow squid but from James Point up to the Stirling channel, it is largely pretty desolate based on my observation and only impacts a very small patch the larger seaweed meadows around D9
What remains to be seen the extent of dredging to get the ships in and out.

Inevitable.
