New rig and bunk advice

Hey fellas. I've finally secured my "forever" boat.... a 2010 Caribbean 2400. Pretty fuckin pumped, and lookin forward to summer now
anyway I've had to modify the trailer slightly to fit it in my driveway, and I'll have to move the bunks/skids, so was considering making brand new ones.
A question for those in the know, what is the best timber or materials to make bunks/skids out of?

Bunks
Duralite trailers sell composite bunk boards, not cheap but only way to go.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

Nice rig Scotto. Mate just picked up a new 2300 which is very nice. The 2400 is a big step up in space on the 2300.
I know nothing about trailers!

Fuck yeah Scott. Nice.
The tank planks like on my old Whaler were really soft and gentle on the hull...I looked around in Perth to replace mine and could not find much, my mate built two bunk trailers withthe composite stuff mentioned above, a bit hard but way easier to get the boat off the trailer.
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

Cheers lads
As I said, I'm deadset fuckin pumped with her! It's good to be back on the Caribbean wagon, after the Whittley. The sea trial was in very shit conditions, and I pushed her through her paces. Not a drop of water on the windscreen!
it's a stern drive mercruiser, and an ali trailer, which is apparently just under 3 tonne dry. 400L fuel and 100L water puts her close to the magic mark.
marko the luxxy tows her ok. I have a tranny cooler which helps, but it does sit around 20L/per 100km. As I've pulled the boat forward on the trailer a bit, I'll probably move the axles up a bit more to balance the load on the axles better.

Duralite Trailers
Another one for Duralite trailers in Rockingham mate. They have the composite bunk material which is already cut with the deadrise angle on it. Just tell them the legth of your current bunk and they will cut it for you to length you can also plain or sand the bunks to a different angle deadrise if required. They also have all the hardware required to mount them if your current gear needs an upgrade.
I fitted them on my trailer a year ago and they work a treat. No more worries about carpet coming off or Sand getting in the carpet which happens a lot up north. Much better option then wood and carpet bunks. I would also reccommend getting a forward V bunk from them also. I fitted this and now the boat lines up perfectly with the winch post everytime.
Cheers
