The new runabout - Barcrusher

 Gday fellas

just thort I would share some pics of my new rig, I previously discussed the Ali boats in the forum and after taking most of the Ali boats including Genesis, Assassin, Coraline for a test drive in rough condition none of them compared to the ride of the barcrusher!

The only bad points on the barcrusher is that they look ugly and the semi hardtop design is pretty crappy..... But I was willing to sacrifice looks and the hardtop design for a better ride and more stable boat when fishing..... All in all I am extremely happy with the decision and would not change a thing!

the boat has a 150 yami four stroke, hds 10, deck wash, live bait tank all plumbed, 270 litre fuel tank, VHF and 27mgh radios, iPod ready stereo and heaps more!!

Went out on the first trip and god a small dhuie to christen the boat!! Hope there are many more fish to come.

Cheers

Ugly boats always get more

Tue, 2013-07-02 17:37

Ugly boats always get more bites .. lol ..  I'd be putting a electric fence and 20 security lights around it and maybe chain a bullmastiff to it , if stays on the verge... seriously though, it's a nice boat Piggy congrats on the purchase and fish .

 Cheers for the feedback fellas!!

Haha I don't keep it out the front, I actually keep it at a storage joint that's all secured ect.... It only stays out the front when I'm going fishing the next morning.... And when it does stay out the front the German Shepard sleeps inside it!! Hahaha

chris raffs comment about a bullmastiff made me have a chuckle me and a few mates were in Onslow diving years ago one of the blokes was down from Darwin and brought his pig dog with him I asked him what sort of dog it was and he said a NT biting dog and to stay away from it to cut a long story short we took a German tourist out for a dive and after a long day out after cleaning up went for a feed at the pub we were half way through the our feed when the manager of the van park came running in looking for us we had left my mates dog chained to the boat for security (ironically its name was Bertram) and the German came back to the boat as he had left his goggles on board well Bertram savaged him the local police sgt turned up and told him he was a bloody fool and should have come and seen us before approaching the boat and he had got what he deserved then took him up to the hospital he never did come back for his goggles again good old style policing

Barcrusher great boat

Tue, 2013-07-02 21:40

A mate of mine has a bar crusher and it has a fold down roof which makes it just able to fit under the roof of his patio, a great bonus. I have been out in it of exy and it was a terrific boat in what turned out to be a very lumpy day. I'm sure you are going to have a ripper of a time in the new "tub"
Have fun

 Cheers guys!!

The boat does have the built in tackle boxes which I think are an awesome idea, great use of space that would otherwise be pointless!! The burley bucket is also a great idea..... I've noticed that the boat is definently designed by fisherman for fisherman, along with those simple ideas even the way the rod holders face on the gunnels has been well thort of.... It's hard to explain, but directly behind the seat they face straight out and as you move towards the back of the boat they face more and more out the back (if that makes sense) anyway it is a great idea!!

The boat and trailer cost me under $80k so comparing that to a 6.7 genesis, assassin or coraline it was about $15k less.... And like I said a very noticeable difference in ride!!

cheers!!

it's definitely on my "to buy" list.  I love my glass boats, but these are just so practical for fishing, easy to tow, the clip on the front for drive on drive off launching on your own.  just awesome....

Does the burley bucket have an "easy clean" trap door?  Would hate to have to scoop out skanky fish bits by hand!

Sweet ride matehow does it

Sweet ride mate

how does it ride with the 150?

Just an open comment, but would have thought a 6.7m boat with a 150 might be a little under done?

Definently not

Thu, 2013-07-04 13:34

 Hey Bodie!

At first I was concerned that it wouldn't have enough power but after looking into it and adding up the power to wight ratio of the whole boat I assumed it would be good... Also the max horse power for the barcrusher is 175hp.....  Once the engine ran in I really opened it up and it's mint, no lack in power what so ever!! Easily up on the plane from a standing start and cruises at 34 knots at 5200 rpm and it still had a bit more to go... I think max rpm is 5500 - 5600 rpm.... So the times I have been out I have sat on about 25 knots and its using bugger all fuel too!! Very very happy with the engine!!

So it definently isn't under powered.... If u look at a similar genesis or coraline they are heavier and take alot more to push thru the waves so they would need about a 200 for the same size!

can you stop talking about

Thu, 2013-07-04 14:01

can you stop talking about how awesome your new tub is!  you're making me want to buy one......  in case you can't tell by my previous comments i absolutely love bar crushers...

out of interest why did you go for the runabout?  purely for deck space?  Did you look at the cuddy cabs or walk arounds?

you should chuck up some interior shots as well...  or don't, because I'll probably go spend $80k

Cuddy cab

Thu, 2013-07-04 18:22

 Justo!

yeah they are a great boat!! It is a cuddy cab, the front has cushions and infills to make a bed, it's pretty big in there... If u squashed you could fit 3 people laying down! Along with that it has a massive deck space.... Great boats

cheers

Storage

My mate owns a storage unit so I only pay $80 a month.... I think it's normally more expensive

 I just got a 610, mint boat

Mon, 2013-07-08 20:44

I just got a 610, mint boat handles all conditions. Im very happy with it. Getting a front clear this week so I dont have to pull down the hard top to stop seaspray coming in and have a full aluminum subframe canopy that plugs into the front hardtop tube slots all the way to the bait board to give you full coverage for those long summer days or when its raining.
