New toy to play with for me trip
Well I've gotten into jigging in the last year and love it but one problem is my left arm gets tired pretty easily and sore from haven erbs paulsy but do struggle on to keep fishing the day out and countless hours off looking for rods looking for a right rod for me I think I had found it. The company is newish and has been product testing this new handle for a while now and have just released the first batch off handle and rods on the market and I thought I'd grab one to give it a try as the owners said it helps wit muscle fatigue and so on also people with disabilities like myself find it much easier to use than a stander straight rod. So I found it bout 8 months ago they said it be ready for end January but they were haven hard time getting th Fuji guides and reel seats but Finaly received them in late April and few weeks to out the rods together and send them out I was getting nervous as I really wanted the rod for me up coming trip to the abrohlos were I wanted to out it to the test so asked them to express post it to me and now just recieved it opened it up out off the box and out off the bubble wrap I come across a nice rod bag well call it also designed to fit the fin off the handle out it together and had a feel and omg it felt Lao good with me arm I was impressed so grabbed me sustain 6000 out off me reel bag that's ready for the trip threaded the line thru and tied a loop knot so I could fit over the fence post and went back 10m or so and tried it out tightened the drag and started a slow pump and wind and omg I could hold the rod better and also put more pressure on then it started to rain so thought I'd write a post up about it
forgot to tell you the name off it it's a Get A GRip handle with a crony prodigy ii blank overall is 5.9 "
ill let the pics speak for themselves

Very interesting. It's always good to see some innovative products. One thing I like about conventional jigging style rods is their ability to bend the entire length on the blank. Obviously, in the case of the "get a grip" you'll get the bend above the foregrip. I'll be interested to hear how it performs.

Interesting design, was
Interesting design, was trying to work out where the grip was but figured it out and can see how it would be easier on the arm and even wrist.
If it works would be good it someone could design an "upright grip" that could be fitted to any rod (clamped to blank).

yeh thanks for the support
yeh thanks for the support dant I hope it does to but just with a quick 5 mins on the fence it felt awesome and will make sure I do report once back, they've even had a guy wit a prosthesis(spelling) with like a 3 claw hand and is still using the rod with ease
Paul H they are actually in the process off designing more handles for overheads and heavy casting rods atm they mainly have a few jigs rods and then I think 2 7.6 rods but are a bit tricky to cast by the sounds
like all new businesses its hard getting the money together to purchase products nd make a few to then onsell the first batch was 10 rods each series rod

Load test / rod flex
Hi fincher kudos on the trying out the new handle design and to the designers for thinking of new ideas.
Can you post a photo of the rod loaded up ? I'm a little bit concerned as to whether the gap where your little finger sits wil close up under load thereby mimicking the original crony bend ??
if it doesn't and the new handle stays straight then I fear they have altered the design of the blank , by that I mean the load of the rod is designed to be spread into the butt section and on a lot off jigging rods actually bends through it , if the gap doesn't close up then they have designed what used to be the fore grip section as the new " butt " and I fear I can see it breaking, you are now basically pivoting at this new point .
I hope I am wrong and presume they have tested the rod / handles extesively but just thought I'd ask the question .
cheers and good luck fishfish

fish fish haven't properly
fish fish haven't properly loaded the rod up but the gap stays the same gap. the handles and blanks have been extensively abused and punished over here in wa and over east either on the big kingys to our sambos and everythen in between and they've handled them fine
not sure if they've altered the blank itself so I cant comment on that so time will tell

Fantastic
Doing what I do this is very awesome. Im always interested in how to make things easier for people with disabilities, and this is up there with the best.
Sort of remind me off when I competed as a windsurfer years (and Years) back. The straight boom's gave me forearm pain because the grip placed pressure on the muscles. Someone designed a Z-boom with the foregrip shaped similar to this rod. Instant pain relief and meant no pain, and can race longer.
