New tyres

Shopping around online for new tyres for my ute today and had a look at the tyre sales web site. Found what I wanted, really good price, went to purchase as I was quoted around $880 for 4 Kumho's clicked to purchase and another $120 goes on top for shipping and handling. What a load of crap. Needless to say I won't be buying from that site. I'll be having a drive around Rocky on Monday for quotes to buy the old way.

Not sure what your issue is Dale.
Pretty normal to pay shipping and handling when buying online. Got to get them to you somehow
Other option is to go around the local guys and see what deal they can do for you.

Yeah Tim, that's what I'll be doing on Monday. My main grudge that the extra bucks was added after the purchase commitment, should have been up front. That's the issue. A couple of the local places were on my options to go to on the purchase to get the tyres done, so I'll be going to those guys first to see if they will do the first price I got. I'm sure they will play the game if they want a sale.

I found Garry at tyre power
I found Garry at tyre power in Rockingham to be pretty good... He's the cheapest I've found for toyo's, not sure about kumos but worth ago... Mandurah on the other hand charge $30 above retail price (for toyo m/t that is)
also as your probably aware it's also about $25 a side to get fitted & balanced.

I'll be visiting him for sure, rather throw my dollars at someone who owns the store rather than a place that's owned by some multi national.

250 a corner
What tyres were they ? I am looking a set for my 4wd . and If I could get Kumhos for $250 a corner I would be happy.
But adding the freight after committing to buy is not too good. Should be a calculator for you to see what your up for before deciding. What web site ?

check out Tempe tyres in nsw for performance tyres.
I bought some for my hilux from them 22/285/40 and saved nearly a thousand on local prices.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

just had a squizz at that web site, can save a good 350 - 400 bucks and can go to something better than Kumho's for not much more. Another 100 odd to have them fitted and balanced and I'm still way ahead.

I just went through Tempe and purchased 4 x Goodyear Eagle F1's for $650 with delivery included, and I was able to upgrade to a better tyre for about $8 each per tyre.

in naval base. Get my Kumho's for my light truck there. they have beat any price I have found south of river yet.
They moved last year near the truck stop near the motorplex.

Went to the local tyre mob this morning, name has got Bob Jane in it, and initially they were going to do it for $30 a corner, then suddenly they are overcome with doing the right thing and start telling me the tyres will be illegal because of load ratings etc, and the tyres I was replacing were illegal. Struth, what was I hearing. I noted their company vehicle was also a Falcon ute and its wheels were a lower and wider profile than mine. Surely illegal too, They gave me back my keys and apologised. I went elsewhere.

was bob Jane that wanted to charge me $550 per corner for my falkens that's why I went East for my tyres and landed and fitted them for $330 per corner !
